GUARDIAN ANGEL peers over his shoulder.

Typically, this is a posture Polar bears assume when they are initiating play.

But Guardian Angel also is scanning the horizon to be sure all is well.

His size,  strength, and instinct to defend make him the Perfect Guardian Angel.

He lowers himself down and lumbers away toward his home.

The dark stone, the beautiful peeping eyes, and quality of the carving makes Guardian a  Museum quality piece.

Makittuq is renowned for his Polar bears.      

Gjoa Haven is best known as the resting place of the ill-fated Franklin Expedition.

This community of carvers is very remote and because of this isolation, these artists  have a wonderful unique style.
