ON THE EDGE is a sweet carving of a Mother Polar bear and her cub.

Derrald has "carved" the pair as they approach the edge of a cliff during one of their morning sojourns.

Derrald is a respected Carver of many subjects but exquisite small to medium bears are his forte.

Derrald carves details that are impeccable and painstakingly executed.

The bears' small black eyes and perfect noses are an example of his devotion to detail.

Derrald also carves fringes of fur on the back of the Bears' leg
