Kenojuak Ashevak was one of Canada's most important contemporary artists.

Her range of subject matter included landscapes, scenes of life and images of animals and birds.

Kenojuak is best known for her Prints, The Enchanted Owl (which was honoured with a Canadian Postage Stamp) is the most famous

She was quoted as saying "I am an owl, and I am a happy owl.  I like to make people happy.  I am the light of happiness".

Her humans and creatures in Spirits At Night have smiles on their faces.

The pastel and jewel colours reflect the same joyful spirit.

Kenojuak was also a proficient stone carver.
