SUMMERSIDE is a Limited Edition Dancing Bear carved from a very special stone,
Kimmirut serpentine stone is flown in from the secluded hamlet of Kimmirut.
Kimmirut is 400 km north of Cape Dorset on Baffin Island.
The stone is revered for its high density and vibrant colours.
Summerside was born to Dance.
His colour of soft greens, and yellows is magnificent.
His posture is rare,
Almost all Dancing bears have their heads flexed backward.
BUT Summerside's head is turned to the side so he is overlooking his right arm.
His body is leaning to the left as he balances on his left foot.
Incredible engineering by Johnny Manning.
Johnny is a carver who often expresses his pride in his bears.
Manning is a a respected carver who never fails to inspire.
SUMMERSIDE IS TRULY ONE OF A KIND!
